AT OWNERS RISK is a site-specific installation that responds to the current structure and function of Suyama Space, as an architectural firm and gallery. The work also reflects on its history as an auto body shop and livery stable. By applying simple design approaches, seemingly obvious materials and colors are re-purposed to create a platform in which the past and present collide.

Avantika Bawa is an artist, curator, and academic. Currently Assistant Professor of Fine Arts at Washington State University Vancouver, Bawa is also co-founder and editor of Drain: A Journal of Contemporary Art and Culture.
