Blackened steel trays are a signature object designed by our firm: a modern interpretation of Japanese lacquerware. Each tray is hand-spun by local artisans using a traditional lathe process.
Once formed, the trays are blackened, oiled, and waxed in our studio using a technique known as ‘bluing steel’. Each member of our staff is trained in this finishing process, which is used on steel elements throughout our architectural work.
Produced in various sizes, the trays are available in our 3×10 shop. They embody our commitment to craftsmanship and timeless design.
